Thigh Lifts

Dimpled, chunky thighs are the downfall of many women’s and even some men’s existence. A thigh lift (thighplasty) can reduce fat and excess skin in the thigh and knee area, resulting in a slim, redefined, and taut thigh that will look great in mini-skirts, skinny jeans, and bathing suits.

What Is Thigh Lift Surgery?

A thigh lift surgery is a procedure designed to reshapes the thighs by reducing sagging, flabby excess skin, and in some cases fat from the upper and inner thighs, resulting in smoother skin and better-proportioned contours of the thighs and lower body. Ideally, the trunk and outer thighs should form an hour-glass silhouette and indent toward the waist, with a smooth outward curve to the outer thighs.

The natural ageing process, genetic propensity or years of sun damage causes the skin to lose its elasticity. Substantial weight loss can also leave flabby skin around the thighs.

Hanging thigh skin is not only unsightly, causing the person to be self-conscious, but can also interfere with one’s ability to wear skirts or shorts. Having excess skin of the upper thighs can also cause discomfort from skin rash and irritation. Covering up with unflattering skirts and trousers is no longer your only option. Now you can have a thigh lift with Skinologica to improve appearance and boost your self confidence.

There are two types of Thigh Lift procedures:

Inner Thigh Lift (Medial Thigh Lift) – where  incision is made in the inner thigh hidden in the groin crease.

Outer Thigh Lift (Lateral Thigh Lift) – includes a Buttock Lift, incision is made extending from the groin around the back.

Additional procedures that may enhance the result include Liposuction, Breast Enlargement and Tummy Tuck.

Who Is a Good Candidate for Thigh Lift Surgery?

Both men and women who have dimpled, saggy or flabby loose skin and tissue on their thighs may be candidates for thigh lift procedure. Many people who have lost massive amounts of weight may also benefit from thigh lifts to get rid of the excess fat and flab in this area.

How Should You Prepare for Thigh Lift Surgery?

At your consultation, your surgeon will assess your physical and emotional health, review your health history, and discuss your goals. He/she will recommend a course of treatment to help you meet your goals and explain the various surgical options available to you, the potential risks and complications, and the likely outcomes. Any questions that you may have can be brought up at this time.

Your doctor will be able to tell you how to adequately prepare for the procedure by giving you guidelines on what you can eat/drink, as well as what medications and vitamins to take.

How Is Thigh Lift Surgery Performed?

The procedure is performed under general anesthesia or local anesthesia with sedation on an outpatient basis unless otherwise advised by the surgeon. Wide variations in the design of the incisions to meet clothing or personal desires are possible. Lifting the inner thighs requires only short incisions extending from the anterior part of the thigh groin crease around to the buttock crease. Lateral or anterior thigh lifts can be performed as separate procedures if desired. The buttocks can be lifted with upper or lower scars. The procedure can be combined with liposuction in some patients. The doctor will show you what specific procedures are available to solve your particular problem.

What Is Recovery Like After Thigh Lift Surgery?

Your thighs will be placed in a compression garment or dressing to minimize swelling and assist in the natural shrinking of the skin following Thigh Lift procedure. There might be some bruising, swelling and localized pain that will subside week two after surgery. Do not participate in any strenuous activity for the next 4 – 6 weeks following the procedure. Do not sit for long periods of time as it will increase tension on the stitches. You will be able to resume your daily activities within 4 – 6 weeks after Thigh Lift surgery.

Will The Results of Thigh Lift Surgery Be Permanent?
